When did it Start?
The origins of Cirque du Soleil can be traced back to the early 1980s in the Canadian village of Baie-Saint-Paul, near Quebec City. There, a group of performers known as Les Échassiers de Baie-Saint-Paul (translates to The Stiltwalkers of Baie-Saint-Paul), which was founded by Gilles Ste-Croix, showcased their talents in the streets, forming the foundation of the world-renowned circus.
